Starting March 15, 2023, the Vermilion Housing Authority will accept applications for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program (commonly known as Section 8) waitlist.
Applications will be accepted in person only from 8:00am-3:00pm on March 15 & 16, 2023 at 1607 Clyman Lane, Danville, IL 61832 in the Community Room.
You must bring all information necessary to establish eligibility at this time. See below for what is required. Incomplete applications or applications missing required documentation will NOT be accepted. If it applies to your household, you must bring the following information with you when applying.
- Photo I.D.s for all adults (must be a valid state issued I.D.)
- Birth certificates for all household members
- Social Security cards for all household members
- Current SNAP and/or TANF printout
- Proof of all CURRENT household income; including but not limited to:
- 1 month of current consecutive employment pay stubs
- Proof of self-employment
- Unemployment benefit printout
- Child support payments
- Social Security/Disability printout
- Veteran’s pension/disability printout
- Pension/annuity
- Proof of all CURRENT assets; including but not limited to:
- Bank statements
- Annuity/pension/life insurance/401K
- Direct Express or other debit card account balances
- Mortgage payoff statement
- 401K balance statement
- Proof of childcare expenses
- Proof of medical expenses for Disabled household (Head/Spouse/Co-Head must be disabled)
- Proof of adoption, court awarded custody, or foster placement
- Proof of full-time student status for anyone over the age of 18
- Most recent power/gas and water bills
Applications will be placed on the HCV waiting list based on local selection preferences. Placement on the waiting list does not indicate that an applicant is eligible for housing assistance. Final eligibility will be made when the family is selected from the waiting list.
The application period will begin at 8:00am on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, and will close Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 3:00pm. No applications will be accepted before or after this time.
